Welcome to the YES Academy 2017. Join us in 2017 as we celebrate 10 years of YES Academy in Kurdistan!
The YES Academy will take place in Erbil at the Institute of Fine Arts from July 14 to July 27, 2017. We will meet daily except Fridays from 8am to 4pm, This is a free program.
In celebration of our 10th year, we are offering more programs and a faculty of 13 from the USA’s finest universities, orchestras and hip hop crews:

APPLY/AUDITION:
If you want to participate in the YES Academy Erbil 2017, APPLY NOW as places are limited for each program.
If you attended the YES Academy program before, you do not need to audition for the program, but you are required to apply online. Be sure to list the year(s) that you have attended the YES Academy in the past.
If you are a new student from Erbil you can audition live in Erbil on the later afternoon and evening of Friday July 14.
If you are a new student from outside Erbil you can audition by sending a link to a short 1-3 minute audio or video file.
If you are a composer, submit a PDF of one of your compositions.
All who submit auditions online must do so before July 9, 2017. All online applicants will be informed by phone on July 10 if they are accepted.
Housing, Transportation, Meals and Scholarships:
Meals: Breakfast is included in your hotel stay. We will provide a sandwich and water/soft drink for lunch. We will give each participant 3500IQD per day to buy their dinner. So, all meals will be covered for the 60 participants on scholarship
Minors under 18: Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or older brother or sister or teacher. The guardian must be approved in advance by the administration.
Transportation:
Car: We will reimburse gas expenses up to 25,000IQD each direction to anyone who drives AND brings at least 3 other participants with them.
Bus: We will reimburse bus transportation, round trip as follows:
Rania/Suli: 20,000 IQD Round Trip
Kirkuk/Koya: 12,000 IQD Round Trip
Duhok: 20,000 IQD Round Trip

Participants from Baghdad: We can reimburse round-trip transportation by taxi (50,000 RT) and will provide a letter from the Institute to help you cross the border.

Participants from Basra/Najaf: We can provide a limited number of air tickets for participants from cities such as Najaf and Basra. Please contact the administration with your request.

Self-funded Participants from Outside Erbil:
We can accept only 60 participants on hotel/meals/transportation scholarship.
Anyone from outside Erbil who is accepted into the program but is not accepted for scholarship is welcome to attend if they can pay their own hotel ($10USD per night) meals and transportation.

- For all: This program is tuition-free.
- For Erbil Residents: We will provide lunch (sandwich and water/soft drink)
- For the 60 Scholarship recipients from outside Erbil, we will offer a bed in the Mondeal Hotel in Erbil to 60 participants. We will have rooms for female participants with supervision.
